Erika Mikhailova
Erika grew up in the Pacific Northwest where her passion for nature took shape. She spent long summer days climbing trees looking for nests, watching leaf-cutter bees laboring in fields of clover, and following hawks gliding upon updrafts in wide open skies. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont and began her college education at the Kansas City Art Institute. Erika completed her BA at Mary Baldwin College (University) in art history and studio art, with a minor in elementary education. She has been involved in early childhood education for 11 years in both the private and public sector and homeschooled her youngest of two children until joining CBI last fall.
She is currently studying permaculture and is a certified yoga instructor who enjoys gardening, making art and crafts, outdoor activities and reading.
Erika is looking forward to another kindergarten year in the forest, and passionately serves the community with her enthusiasm for learning and her love of art and nature.
