Kaytlin Halperin
Kaytlin Halperin is a graduate of Illinois State University with her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a Minor in French. After graduating in 2021, she traveled to Haiti to teach English for a year to students ages 5-19. Last year, when the political situation in Haiti became too dangerous, she returned home to Bloomington-Normal Illinois, where she worked as a Lead Kindergarten Teacher in the local public school system as well as a French tutor for children under five years old.
Kaytlin has lived her entire life in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois and will be new to the Charlottesville area. However, her passion for travel has given her the opportunity to see the world along with her parents, brother and sister. She loves to experience and learn about different cultures while enjoying time with her family. In her free time, she also enjoys Circus, baking, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
Kaytlin has been passionate about Forest Schools and Nature Based education since she first learned of it in her Junior year of University, four years ago. She was inspired by its focus on the well being and autonomy of children and holistic approach to their education. She is incredibly excited to be teaching at CBI Forest School for the first time this year! Kaytlin cannot wait to meet all of the wonderful students, families, and teachers who support CBI, and is excited to build strong long lasting relationships with her three year old students in the 2023-2024 school year!
