Leah Baker
Leah (she/her/hers) was born in Rochester, New York but moved to Charlottesville with her family as a 5-year-old. She grew up in and around the incredible CBI community, which quickly became like a second home to her. Leah spent five years teaching the 2nd and 8th grades in the religious school program before joining the teaching team full-time in the Hummingbird class in early 2021.
In her spare time, Leah enjoys hanging out with her husband Jordan, their two sons Mason & Ethan (4th grade & 2nd grade at CBIFS), and their dogs Scout and Bear. She loves to sing, write, read, and play piano and can often be found painting or sketching too—basically anything creative or crafty is right up her alley.
Leah is really excited about continuing to teach outdoors in the forest again next year and is most looking forward to the opportunity to help engage little imaginations with play and adventure while we all learn as much as we can about the beautiful world around us.
