Stevan Michaels

Steve (he/him/his) is excited to be starting his 12th year at CBI. He is a transplant from upstate NY, moving in 1999 and graduating from Monticello High School in 2002.

After attending VCU as a classical trumpet performance major, Steve eventually found his way to CBI, starting as a substitute teacher and then co-teaching in both Levana and Gan Shemesh. He has also held positions in Afterclub and Summer Camp. After a few years in the woods, he is enthusiastic about returning to CHT and the forest to help foster a relationship between children and nature.

He is happily married to Raennah, a writer and project manager at Virginia Humanities. While away from CBI, Steve loves to spend time with his family and fur babies, climbing/bouldering (come join me at Rocky Top!), pick his banjo, cook/eat/drink, as well as run Photography Champloo his photography business.
