Steve (he/him/his) has been a part of the CBI family for nearly 20 years. He is a transplant from upstate NY, moving in 1999 and graduating from Monticello High School in 2002.

After attending VCU as a classical trumpet performance major, Steve eventually found his way to CBI, starting as a substitute teacher and then teaching 3-5 year olds. After a many years in the woods, he is enthusiastic about outdoor education and focuses on fostering a relationship between children and nature.

While away from CBI, Steve loves to spend time with his family of fur babies, climbing/bouldering (come join me at Rocky Top!), pick his banjo, cook/eat/drink, as well as run Photography Champloo, his photography business.
